**The main scientific results.** Formulated variational principles and methods of building adaptable curvilinear grids condensing in areas with large gradients of the characteristics of hydrodynamic flows. Developed new iterative algorithms for the numerical solution of difference equations for incompressible fluids. A three-dimensional non-stationary mathematical model that takes into account the terrain with the parameterization of the basic physical input data on which studied various problems of climate change under the influence of natural and anthropogenic factors. At the Institute under the guidance of N. Danaev actively carry out scientific work on the development of new information technologies in science, technology and education.

**The main scientific results.** Sh. Smagulov – an outstanding scientist, teacher, organizer of science and education. They created a scientific school on computational mathematics and mathematical modeling in Kazakhstan. He made a great contribution to the creation of efficient numerical methods for solving the Navier-Stokes equations.

Smagulov Sh. first investigated and proved the correctness of difference schemes for nonlinear equations of compressible gas and magnetic hydrodynamics, suggested and mathematically substantiated new numerical methods for solving the equations of a viscous incompressible fluid, obtained fundamental results in the application of the method of fictitious domains. Sh. Smagulov created a new variational method of approximate solutions of nonlinear boundary value problems for multidimensional equations of mathematical physics. Under the leadership of Sh. Smagulov were initiated development of information technologies for the oil and gas industry and in the sphere of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

**The main scientific results.** Is engaged in the development and analysis of the generalized models of dynamic systems with cavities partially filled with fluid, and elastic systems with nonlinear complicating factors (nonlinear elastic characteristics of the geometric and physical nature of nonlinear-viscous resistance, non-linear inertial the link between their face and the elastic movement) in relation to the tasks machine dynamics. Theoretical modeling of oscillatory processes in rotary systems with cavities partially filled with liquid and physically nonlinear elastic coupled systems with finite deformations, predicting their stability, the totality of which is a major achievement in the development of machine dynamics.
